The major blood transfusion provider in Gujranwala’s non-governmental sector is Sundas Foundation. Vital life-saving services are offered by its blood banks and hematological facilities in Lahore, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Mirpur AZK, Daska, Sialkot, Islamambad, Wazerabad and Faisalabad. Sundas Foundation Center alone has over a thousand registered patients with hemophilia and thalassemia. Every year, the Sundas Foundation Gujranwala gives around 5500 units of blood and blood products to patients who deserve them. The Sundas Foundation Gujranwala Center has been giving poor and needy patients—especially young children—completely free blood transfusions and medical help for the past eighteen years.
It’s been said that children are a nation’s future. In my opinion, these Thalassemic children can make significant progress in molding their lives and contributing positively to society even in the absence of moral and social support.
